THE hELPLINE

As a Kingdom Governing Community, The Helper's House (THH) will implement a welfare program called Helpers' Linked Initiatives for Nurturing and Empowerment (HelpLINE). This program is designed to support church members and others in becoming self-sufficient. HelpLINE will encompass training, mentorship, and a monthly stipend for trainees.

What you will get when you enrol for this program

Training

The Helper’s House offers Life Development Centers that provide training programs to equip beneficiaries with skills for income generation within 3-6 months. Beneficiaries must show progress and apply the skills learned to continue receiving the monthly stipend. Life skills are also taught to encourage personal responsibility and taking charge of their lives under God’s guidance. Those who do not show significant progress after 3 months will be removed from the welfare program.

Mentorship

The Helper’s House welfare program offers mentorship to trainees through a designated member of the church. Mentors review monthly reports and offer advice on life, education, business or other identified needs. Monthly mentorship sessions complement weekly training sessions, and graduates of the program are encouraged to return as speakers.

Monthly Stipends

The Helper’s House welfare program offers financial support for a maximum of 12 months, which will be determined based on an individual’s circumstances. The stipend will be gradually reduced by 5-10% each month after the first 3 months, encouraging recipients to seek additional resources. Stipends will be paid in arrears after each full month of participation in training and mentorship sessions. Some individuals may qualify for a family stipend or exchange their time for janitorial service in THH. Working parents, defined as those involved in daily trading, a small business, or holding a job for more than 3 months, may qualify for the family stipend. The Oversight Team will determine who qualifies for the family stipend.

Transition Into Employment

The ultimate goal of the program is to enable graduates to transition into new or more profitable forms of employment that will make them financially independent. To this end, facilitators and mentors will provide technical support to trainees as they search for better job opportunities. While trainees are expected to take ownership of the job search process, facilitators and mentors will provide advice in technical areas such as CV writing and make recommendations for internship or permanent positions where possible.
